My DIY Planner

I've been watching a lot of planner videos lately on YouTube. At first I thought, "It's just another trend for people to show their planners and get views, psshhh." A few people I watched spend a lot of money on planners and paper supplies, and I guess I ain't got it like that LOL. But then I went on YouTube and searched DIY planner. Now they got me :-) Here's mine:

I decided to make my own planner for the purpose of keeping track of my life with details on my schedule, appointments, notes, and lists. I personalized it simply by printing some images from Google and taping them into a cheap notebook I bought that already has a cute cover design. I didn't use sticky paper and laminate the images. I did mine very simply. But if you want to go all out with yours, here is one of the videos I watched by Vasseur Beauty on YouTube that inspired me to make my own planner.

Vasseur Beauty is really one of those planner ladies. She's the organized type who does cleaning videos and keeps things in tip top shape. Which I really admire, by the way. I'm just NOT that LOL. Wish I was, but I'm not. So keeping this planner is helping me. And the personalization makes it fun, so I actually go and look to my planner to document ideas, things I need to do and such that to help to keep my mind and life in order. Here are a couple more pages I'll share with you:

Adding the quotes not only made my planner look pretty, but it gives me inspiration for my life, so when I look at the cover and the pages, I don't feel like planning for my time to give proper attention to the areas of my life that need special tending is tedious.
If you have a DIY planner, I'd like to see yours! Send me a link or comment below with a pic. Take care!

How To Get Into The Bible

Having a relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in anyone's life. Whether you accept Him or not, it's true. Jesus is the reason we're here on this Earth and the only guarantee of everlasting life. His love for you is more amazing than one can imagine. I know because the Bible says so, yes. But also because in my own relationship with Him, the love I've experienced has been amazing. But I know that there's so much more to Him.
Which brings me to what I want to talk about with you. You know we've all get busy lives with a million things to think about and a million things to do. At the end of the day, we just want to relax, right? Getting in that time with Jesus can sometimes take discipline because after a full day of life, sometimes I can shut down and don't want to talk to anyone. But it's still important to find that time at the beginning of the day, during the day and /or the end of the day for Jesus time. There are different ways.
Thing is, He's always available because He can hear you wherever you are, whenever. So if alone (or even semi-alone), you can have a conversation with Him. Talking to Jesus can become a part of your daily life. Depend on Him for everything.
I want to talk about how to get in Bible reading time. I love to sit down and read my Bible. Turn the pages and read chapter after chapter after chapter. But it's not always convenient. You know, there are audio bibles for every book of the Bible on YouTube. Just type in the box the book of the Bible you want to listen to and you can lay down and close your eyes or even work at your desk or clean the house and listen at the same time. Another really awesome resource is devotional books. There are a few that I use. One that I have and have gone through the entire thing is called Daily With The King by W. Glyn Evans.

A good devotional can be a really good companion when you're developing a relationship with Jesus. It can bring conviction, comfort, strength, hope and more... Let me go back to audio Bibles. The best one I've come across is called the Bible Experience. It's a dramatized audio Bible that 400 different actors came together to do. It really sucks you in and gets you interested, if you're not already.

It's one of my favorite things! :-) So I mean, your relationship with Jesus doesn't have to be boring. We're talking about a relationship here, not a set of rules that you need to check off your list. So don't be afraid to seek God about what He wants for your life and to grow in love with Him!

How I Use Coconut Oil For My Hair

I love coconut oil and just started using it again a couple of months ago. There are so many different uses for it. It's really a wonder oil! I was reading a book about it that tells the origins of it and the amazing things it does for your health when you use it to cook with or even eat it raw. It can really change your health! Coconut oil has been known to keep hearts healthy, and even reversing certain diseases! I have used it to cook with. I used it when I baked my chicken in the oven instead of vegetable or olive oil, which I usually use. Just last night, I used it in my rice lol... My daughter immediately noticed the taste of the coconut oil :-) My husband has used it in fruit salad (which I thought was going to be nasty but was really good). I haven't used it in a smoothie yet, but will try that soon!...
... But you wanted to know about my hair, huh? There are a couple of different ways I've used coconut oil in my hair. If I'm going to be shampooing it, I'll heat a little up and soak my hair in it with a plastic cap on. Leave it in for at least a half hour and wash it out! And after I wash it, I'll put in my leave in conditioner and a little coconut oil on top. Sometimes, I'll leave the coconut oil in overnight and wash it out in the morning instead of just that half hour. When I wake up and wash it out, the softness is just awesome! The brand I'm using right now is nice and creamy. The texture of coconut oil varies from brand to brand, and I like this one. It's called Tresomega Nutrition. I bought it at Sam's Club for $16.99 for 54 OZ.. You can buy it on Amazon. It's a 2 pack of 54 OZ. jars.

In Everything Give Thanks

Today was one of those days. I felt down and just didn't want to do the day. I have them once in a while. More often than I'd like to admit. But I always know I need to come back to God and pour out to Him so He can pour into me. But I never thought of a bad day actually being considered sin. When I'm going against God's will, it's sin, whatever the case may be! 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you, in Christ Jesus."
Have you ever heard someone say something and it was exactly what you needed to hear? Well, this whole sermon I'm going to share with you was just that way. The whole thing. It brought me to repentance and thankfulness. I pray you listen and take this to heart as I did.

A Beautiful Mother's Day

Yesterday was my best Mother's Day since becoming a mother. It was a sunny, beautiful day, I was with family and we enjoyed ourselves. I'm going to share more, but first I want to say that I feel like God has more for me and my family. Like something GOOD is coming. And I don't know what, I'm just expecting the great! This past Winter was hard, and this past year really, for us, hasn't been the easiest. We've been blessed, 'cause God's hand is always on us, but as far as our family being together and whole.... Well, I'm not going to go fully into it, but we've had some difficulty with our teenage daughter that's been like, take it as it comes. To God be the glory because slowly, He's bringing restoration. Only Him!
But I'll share my Mother's Day with you :-) We got up and went to church and received a message that I wasn't expecting. The pastor didn't speak, but it was a woman he invited to do the Mother's Day message. She spoke about identity in Christ, being free of your past, and what your purpose in God is. I was blessed, as I'm sure some other people were. When she spoke, I was moved because I know that the enemy is always attacking my identity and my past is brought up a lot. But thank God because in Him, I know I'm truly not who I used to be. God has brought me so far in my walk with Him, but I know He wants more from me and for me.
So, after church, my husband bought me a potted flower. It's a Marigold. We went home and cleaned up from the night before, 'cause we were up late, and my husband started up the grill. My god mom and her two teenagers (I love them!) came over and ate and spent time with us... I don't know, it may sound simple, but it was such a beautiful day to me because of time with family and because the joy and peace and fellowship of the Lord was all over it. Joy Of The Lord

It's good to have a solid faith that doesn't leave you always relying on hearing from God to take the next step. But oh, does it feel good to get a word from Him! God is so good because He's always right on time and He knows just what we need. The Word the Lord showed me that I needed to hear, and I wanted to share with you is from Nehemiah 8:10. "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." With everything happening in this world and personally with myself, it's hard not to get down. The enemy attacks our minds to make us feel like we're unworthy of God's love. That we're not good enough, that we'll never do anything right. And he is a liar! It's so awesome that we can always go into the presence of God and receive that joy from Him that we need to overcome the attack on the mind. Even if there are circumstances you feel you can't deal with, His presence is there to give you that joy you get from knowing Him. So just praise Him! You don't have to wait until your circumstance change, you don't have to wait until you feel good about yourself, you don't have to wait until you feel like praising Him! Praise Him, and that joy you need will come.

Time Away!

Sooo, I went and visited my family. Away from my hubby for a week with my son. It was good. I missed my hubby, but the visit was refreshing. I know, y'all, you're like, where has she been? But I've needed some time away. I hope you understand. I hadn't seen my family back home since last year when me and my husband went up for my dad's 90th birthday last year. This time, I stayed with my mom for a week and a half. It was nice to relax in the countryside and read, and think and enjoy the company, as well as being back in my hometown. My son harassed my mom's dog the entire time. Pulled his fur, hit him, chased him around. My husband and I were thinking about getting a puppy for him, but now, we're not so sure.... What else? Well, my dad wanted to go out to Denny's, so we went and ate there. Here's a pic of my dad sitting across from me at the restaurant:

I also read a whole book while I was there! I actually hadn't read an entire book in a long time and now I want to start reading more. The book I read? The Testament by John Grisham. I liked it. I was looking for a book to read on my mom's shelves and she didn't have much of anything I was interested in, so my brother handed me that one. I enjoyed it.... I wish I had taken some pics of the sunny countryside to share here, but I didn't. It really was beautiful, though. I thank God for the trip because I barely get away. I'm glad to be back home, though. I realize just how much I have here now. Looking from the outside is such a different perspective.
